Next Workshop Saturday 2/20/2010 in Natick, MA 01760

February 20th 8:30 am to 1:00 pm we will be holding a Range of Motion Workshop at the Longfellow Sports Club in Natick, MA.

Optimal joint range of motion is a critical component to any successful exercise program. Restrictions in joint motion often leads to injuries throughout the kinetic chain and injured clients neither reach their goals nor buy more training sessions. Unfortunately most personal trainers do not had access to the skill set to accurately and precisely determine their client's joint range of motion, until now. Learn from a licensed Physical Therapist and Corrective Exercise Specialist how to and why to incorporate goniometry into your personal training practice.

We will cover;

-Multiplanar step assessments with upper extremity progressions to identify restrictions in specific planes of motion

-Squat assessments to hone in on primary and secondary joints that are driving movement compensations

-Goniometric range of motion assessments to collect objective baseline data to quantify limitations

Instructors include;

Todd Forman, PT, NSCA-CPT has been a practicing physical therapist since 1992. He obtained his certification in personal training from the National Strengthening and Conditioning Association in 1996. Todd has undergone extensive training in manual therapy and corrective exercise and specializes in integrating both in orthopedic rehabilitation. A well respected clinician, Todd has contributed several book and video reviews for the journal Physical Therapy. He has developed several training programs focusing on developing effective and efficient orthopedic evaluation and treatment strategies.

Eric Beard, MS, NASM-CPT, CES, PES, NSCA-CSCS, LMT isan international speaker in the health ad fitness industry. He uses humor and draws from past experiences to help his audiences have fun and retain instantly applicable ideas. He enjoys working with individuals as a corrective exercise specialist and massage therapist as well as with groups of athletes. Eric manages the personal training staff at the Longfellow Sports Club in Natick, MA, is the Senior Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is Adjunct Faculty for the California University in Pennsylvania.

The cost of the workshop is $150 and is limited to the first 30 registrants.

Here is a snapshot assessment of Eric Beard. Can you find the planes of motion that he is not moving well in or joints that are not moving optimally?
